About This Station
The station is powered by a Ambient Weather -- WS2000 weather station. The data is collected every 60 seconds and the site is updated within every minute . This site and its data is sent to Ambient Weather via the AWN, Ambient Weather Net. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.
About This Town
The Town of Motley is located in the upper west end of Pittsylvania County. It was named for a notable Virginia family in colonial times, the Motleys. Two of them, Joseph and his son David James Motley, fought in the American Revolution.
The Town is situated right off of Highway 29. It is only a couple miles from what has become Leesville Reservoir. Leesville Reservoir still currently holds the state record for Stripped Bass, 53lbs 7oz caught on March 16th, 2000.
